Launchpad Institute company values and guidelines: a message from the founder.

How we teach with AI

Thank you for viewing this web page, as I personally wrote this section to help guide how instructors and students at Launchpad Institute should utilize AI.

Launchpad offers multiple AI based curricula, including vibecoding, machine learning, and introductory AI concepts with block coding. When teaching these concepts, instructors should make sure that lessons are conducted with student learning as the primary outcome. For example, when showing students how to generate games using Claude Code or Codex, the lesson focus should be to demonstrate how iterative design is needed to fix bugs, adjust difficulty, and make other improvements. Students will also learn how to use code generation safely, and improve their prompting skills to be clear and concise.

While not a hard limit, Launchpad does not recommend the vibecoding course until the student has a basic understanding of the programming language used for the given project. Our main goal is learning and setting students up for success.

What we do not approve of

Launchpad Institute does not approve of using generative AI in the following manners:

Direct communication. Aside from templates or reminders, all texts, calls, and emails between staff and customers of Launchpad are by humans. All curricula are developed and conducted in the classroom by human instructors.
Image and video generation. While we do teach the basics on how stable diffusion models work as part of our AI curricula, using these tools diminishes the accomplishments of real artists. Our students are encouraged to show their own creativity in their projects!
Using LLMs to generate entire essays. Grammar and fact checking is allowed. Please apply yourself to improve your writing skills if applicable to the course curriculum.
Content pipelining (slop machines).
Generating misleading information, impersonation, or scams.
Generating false visuals for historical events.

If you or a student are unsure if your AI project is ethical according to these guidelines, please reach out and confirm with the Launchpad team directly.

When conducting research with LLMs, please be sure to double check each source and fact presented against trusted sources. Hallucination may occur.
