Lead Instructor
Teach 1-on-1 and small group coding classes to students across the greater Seattle area, on a schedule you set, using curricula we have already built.

Our instructors are the whole product. You will meet students where they are, in their homes, at libraries, and in community spaces around the greater Seattle area, and take them from wherever they are starting to a finished project they are proud of.
You are not writing lessons from scratch. Every course has a curriculum behind it. Your job is to teach it well, adapt it to the student in front of you, and tell us where it could be better.
What you'll do
- Teach 1-on-1 or small group classes on one or more of our curricula
- Adapt each lesson to the student's skill level, pace, and interests
- Travel to lessons across the greater Seattle area
- Send families short progress updates so they know what is being covered
- Help each student finish a project worth showing off by the end of their 16-class course
- Tell us where a curriculum was confusing, too fast, or too slow, so the next student gets a better version
What we're looking for
- Solid working knowledge of at least one topic we teach
- Some experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or running a club. A teaching credential is not required
- Patience with true beginners, and the ability to explain the same idea more than one way
- Reliable transportation and comfort traveling to lessons around the region
- Clear, prompt communication with families
- Willingness to teach within our AI usage disclaimer
- At least 18 years old, and able to pass a background check before working with students
Schedule and compensation
You set your own availability. Most lessons land on weekday afternoons and evenings or weekend mornings, and most families run one class per week. Take as many or as few students as fits your life.
Hourly, based on your experience and the topics you teach. We talk numbers in the first conversation, before you spend time on anything else.
Travel between lessons is part of the job and we account for it when we set your rate.
