Curriculum Developer
Build the projects, quizzes, and modules our instructors teach from, using our custom authoring tool. Written by you, for students of any age, at their own pace.

About the role
A Launchpad curriculum is not a slide deck. It is a sequence of hour-long classes that an instructor who is not you can pick up and teach well, built around projects a student actually wants to finish.
You will work in our custom curriculum tool, so you spend your time on the teaching rather than on formatting.
What you'll do
- Create curricula in our custom tool: interesting projects, quizzes, and modules
- Design each module to fit a one-hour window: a lesson an instructor can follow, quick knowledge check exercises, and a project that is fun to finish
- Write so the material works self-paced, and so it is appropriate for any age that reaches that skill level
- Target K-12 skill levels first, while building toward material that stretches advanced students
- Revise based on what actually happens once instructors take it into the classroom
What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the topics listed below
- You write the material yourself. We do not accept generative AI written curricula, and we will notice
- The instinct to break a topic into hour-sized pieces, each with a knowledge check that takes a minute to run
- Clear written English, because an instructor has to follow your lesson without you in the room
- Writing that works for a ten year old and does not talk down to a seventeen year old

Compensation
Paid per module as you build, plus a bonus when a curriculum is successfully published and goes into use with students. We agree the scope and the rate for each curriculum up front, so you always know what a piece of work pays before you start it.
Work remotely, on your own schedule, against agreed milestones rather than fixed hours.

About Launchpad Institute
Launchpad Institute is a private coding tutoring company serving families across the greater Seattle area and students online. We teach 1-on-1 and in small groups, and we build every course around the student in front of us rather than a fixed syllabus.
Our mission is to give students real, transferable skills and a finished project they are proud of. Learning sticks when a student is genuinely interested, so we start from what they want to build and teach the fundamentals through it.
